The FDA's Potential Role in Skin Cancer Escalation
July 02, 2026

I was working on an article about how the FDA hadn't approved a new sunscreen filter for a quarter of a century.

Last month the agency endorsed a new sunscreen filter (bemotrizinol), so I discontinued the project.

Some gave the impression that the delay was due to the agency's overprotection of the public.

My investigation of government & corporate institutions over the years has brought me to a vastly different conclusion.

Despite the FDA's vigorous promotion of sunscreen, I surmise the agency has been involved in a scheme to increase skin cancer incidence by thwarting sunscreen advancement, thereby limiting options (with some exceptions) to formulas serving as clandestine Nonlethal Weapons (NLW), intended to deter use.

In summary, I figure this quarter-century sunscreen blockade was done to discourage use & increase skin cancer cases in the US for two reasons:

I may rework the article & release it (with supporting data) in the future.
